AIX Engineer

Remote (no PST candidates)

Provide engineering, design and support for IBM Power / AIX servers, LPARS and workloads. 

• AIX OS upgrade and patching, LPAR provisioning, system recovery, VIOS configuration, Network and storage virtualization, performance analysis and capacity planning.   
• Work with team members to support storage subsystems.
• Provide engineering, design and support, security remediation for enterprise Redhat Linux servers and workloads.
• Support infrastructure with automation, such as Ansible playbooks, and Ansible scripting or Ansible automation platforms.
• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse team and technologies, understanding of technical and business requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex performance, availability and other types of errors and outages during incidents and come to quick resolution to restore services.
• Document technical and architectural requirements, processes, and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

• Five to seven years of experience as an AIX administrator or engineer
• A minimum of five years of experience in IBM POWER Systems [IBM I (iSeries, AS/400), IBM AIX]
• Hardware Management Console (HMC) configuration and support
• IBM Power Systems hardware configuration
• IBM Server firmware

• Experience supporting RedHat Linux Servers
• Experience with automation scripting with a preference for Ansible
